“We could not believe that, in this day and age, such ignorance and discrimination exists,” said Dorothy.
“His attitude was not only discriminatory but totally offensive and obscene.
“It was painfully obvious that the male member of staff who was dealing with their order was getting agitated with the couple. He was totally unprofessional.”
Yeah, well I’d find it pretty tough to work the cappuccino machine too, with someone swearing and yelping…
I’m starting to wonder if there aren’t more than a few disabled people who take a grim pleasure in waving their Disability Card in people’s faces and causing a scene in public, then demanding to be excused.
If this woman is one of the few for whom medication cannot control her involuntary movements, then I do indeed feel some pity. But that pity rapidly evaporates when her effect on others is expected to be overruled by the Disability Card. Stay home., love, and break out the Nescafe.
“No one else was bothered. ”
I’m sure they were. Just simply too frightened to speak up because of …. well this article is an example.
“A spokeswoman for Costa Coffee said: “We believe in creating warm and welcoming environments in our stores, and take all matters relating to customer experience very seriously.”
And someone sitting in the corner shouting “Feck!” is warm and welcoming /to other customers/ then? I’d beg to differ.
Quite!
“Their diversity and equality training is definitely lacking. It made me sick to the pit of my stomach.”
You have to laugh. I thought they just taught them how to make coffee and use the till.
“I’m sorry. You have failed the equality and diversity training course. You may have tourettes but you can’t shout “TITS” it will upset the lesbians”.
I thought every shop now had this sort of stuff on the inductee training.
Well,. maybe not Footlocker.
The coffee-maker could have told them to “ffffu*k off, youyouyou CU*ts” and then claimed he had intermittent Tourette’s too.
Fight fire with fire!
