Black Friday blues.

There is a longish piece in this morning’s Mail about the lack of enthusiasm (queuing; getting up really early) to join in the race for alleged bargains and ‘super discounts’ during the early stages of ‘Black Friday’. Most of us must remember that famous photo, reproduced below, of last year’s punters searching, (grappling, fighting, desperately struggling) for a chance to buy, presumably at some discount; a 40” flatscreen tv.

But this year’s prime pix features a lady walking sedately through the doors with no less than FIVE large televisions on two trolleys; and we must try and imagine the reasons, the purpose behind this electronic feast.

Is this what that “just about managing” looks like?

That’s £1250 worth of TV. Is she planning to put them on ebay? Is this lower class share dealing, or something?

I need to ask. Looking at the Mail article the faces shopping are black and asian. The ones scrabbling at last years event are black and asian.

Where are all the white people? Or are we the mugs, going to work to pay for the welfare for these people spending our money on stuff they’ll shove on ebay later on?

      Errol,

The bloke with the green hat and the gormless look, he’s white; and you don’t see many red-headed asians around. I thought it was a good cross-section of our Multi-Culti Britain.

3 out of the 9 foreground faces were white. Is this the colour distribution in the UK now?

Are we allowed to use the term “appalled”? Appalled by the whole orgy of greed, about what it does to people, about the lack of dignity?

It looks like a composed photo to me. Everybody is calm and controlled in the background but these 9/10 are scrambling for TVs that another lady can pick up 5 off. Contrived, also in the background another cameraman and sound mike from a TV media.

The dude in the glasses at the back and the black guy next to him can’t even be botherered to pretend to be jostling for the goods. Total fake in my opinion.

    Why is always televisions?

Do people like these buy nothing else?

Do they not realise that television is one of the many ways the PTB hope to control their minds and their lives?

    So many questions…
