The Mystery Here Is The Child…

…and why they should be allowed custody of one:

A man beat his partner up after their toddler mistakenly opened their dog’s Christmas present.

Yes, I had to read that twice too.

Prosecutor Cathrine Kioko-Gilligan told Hull Crown Court the incident happened after Carl Young, 34, began drinking alcohol at about 9am on Christmas Day.

I’m guessing not a small Buck’s Fizz with the smoked salmon canapes?

The prosecutor said: “Their son began to open Christmas presents, and unfortunately opened a gift purchased for the family’s pet dog. This caused the dog to bark, which angered this defendant, who began to shout at the complainant.

“She left to ensure the son hadn’t been bitten by the dog. He hadn’t. On returning to the living room, he punched the complainant in the face, causing her nose to bleed.”

Lovely!

The victim and Young’s father asked him to leave, but he refused, the court heard. She went to sit upstairs for a while, “but felt she should continue with the day’s festivities“, and didn’t want her son to be affected by what had happened.

Oh, I think that ship’s sailed, love. It must be a fairly normal occurrence for the poor little sod, after all.

Young made no comment in police interview, but later admitted two offences of assault by beating. That put him in breach of a suspended sentenced – two years suspended for two years – which was imposed last August for being concerned in the supply of heroin; one of seven previous offences on his record.

With a record like that, why is social services allowing these two degenerates to raise a child?

Yes, I said two. She’s no victim here, she’s a willing participant:

Young’s partner declined to make a victim statement about the Christmas Day violence she suffered.

The judge was in full protector mode:

Young had 91 offences on his record, and the judge told him: “You have assaulted your partner a number of times, including this. You have got a terrible record.

“This was a very, very unpleasant assault on somebody you have assaulted a number of times before, but she, it seems, is still prepared to stand by you and doesn’t want a restraining order. But I must protect her from you because she needs protection.”

Good for you, judge! So, lengthy spell behind b….

Oh.

Young was sentenced to four months in jail, suspended for 18 months, and told the judge on learning his fate: “Thank you, your honour.

*speechless*

92 convictions and he’s in society, around children.

Dear fecking trousers. He should be dismembered, castrated, his tongue torn out and thrown into a lime pit and forgotten about.

    The law is a joke.

Surely he can’t be all bad if his dog gets a Christmas present? Every cloud, as they say . . .

@Pcar: not my area of expertise, but I asked the question on the farming forum I’m on, and the general view is that its not a pest or disease, just what happens when a potato grows too fast, and a void forms inside. Impossible to grade out at the packing plant.
